Romanization: Test 1 (2018)

As my work in the group exhibition Here & Not Yet: The 2017-2018 Queer|Art|Mentorship Annual, a culmination of the Queer|Art|Mentorship program, I translated the wall labels for all the works in the show into Hatnahans, a conlang, or constructed language, created for a sci-fi shorty story I wrote in 2016. In the story, the conlang comes from an online comic series popular among Black people living a Post-Reparations U.S.

Two wall labels side-by-side. One wall label is white and in English and the other is a light blue and in Hatnahans.
